US law firms are 'ineffective' on social media

US law firms are, in general, 'inconsistent at best' and making 'only a token effort' in their use of Twitter, LinkedIn and other social technologies, according to a new report.

US law firms are in the 'very early stages of use of social business technologies and practices'. Walter Kopplinger

The Social Law Firm', published by Good2BSocial and Above the Law, concludes that US law firms are in the 'very early stages of use and deployment of 'social business technologies and practices'. This is despite the fact that all the law firms surveyed use LinkedIn, 90 per cent use Twitter, 64 per cent are on Facebook and 30 per cent are on Google Plus. But the report finds that only 34 per cent have established a blog for the firm overall or for a practice group. The authors of the report, therefore, conclude that there are 'low levels of reach and engagement relative to the resources available and the market opportunity'. Source: CMS Wire
