Women lag men by 18 per cent on pay in legal sector

Female lawyers and judges are earning just 82 per cent of what their male counterparts receive, according to research from Harvard University.

There is a smaller disparity than in the medical profession where women are on 71 per cent of their male counterparts, according to Harvard employment economist Claudia Goldin. Female lawyers also beat female accountants who arrive at just 76 per cent. But there are some sectors where there is no pay gap - advertising sales, dental hygiene and human resources. Source: ABA
