The furore kicked off after Alexander Carter-Silk, who is also joint chair of the Brown Rudnick International IP litigation practice, sent a message to Charlotte Proudman about a photo of herself that she had put on LinkedIn. He said: 'I appreciate that this is probably horrendously politically incorrect but that is a stunning picture!!!'
Losing business
Ms Proudman, 27, responded to the 57-year old married former Speechly Bircham lawyer by saying on Twitter: 'Think twice before sending another woman [half your age] such a sexist message'. And she called his comments 'unacceptable and misogynistic behaviour'. Some London solicitors have since said that they will not send her business, according to the Daily Mail. The Daily Mail has found Facebook posts by Ms Proudman in which she commented on the appearance of men. The controversy has been widely discussed in the media and is the subject of radio phone-ins as well as articles across the written media. Source: Daily Mail
