The claims first began in 2008 following Anheuser Busch’s merger with Inbev, reports the BBC.

Alcohol content

Lawsuits filed yesterday in Pennsylvania, California and other states claim consumers have been cheated out of the alcohol content stated on beer labels across 10 of the St Louis-based company’s products – including Budweiser and Michelob - and are demanding $5 million in compensation.
Anheuser-Busch InBev has dismissed the claims as ‘completely false’and said in a statement: ‘Our beers are in full compliance with labelling laws’.

Former employees

The complainants' lawyer, San Francisco-based Josh Boxer, said: ‘Our information comes from former employees at Anheuser-Busch, who have informed us that, as a matter of corporate practice, all of their products mentioned [in the lawsuit] are watered down.’
Peter Kraemer, vice president of brewing and supply at Anheuser-Busch said in a statement: ‘We proudly adhere to the highest standards in brewing our beer.’
