Mr Holder, who could well be in retirement within 90 days as he is only waiting on the formal appointment of a successor, said: 'To the extent that individuals haven’t been prosecuted, people should understand it’s not for lack of trying. These are the kinds of cases that people come to the Justice Department to make. The inability to make them, at least to this point, has not been a result of a lack of effort.'
Years of investigation
However, a lawyer with experience in the regulatory sector, said that he did not expect that individual prosecutions would happen since the Justice Department had been investigating for several years without a prosecution being forthcoming.
