By contrast, the firms ranked 11 to 25 are less exposed to currency fluctuations - as less of their work is international - and their revenues went up by an average of 6.2 per cent. The average, according to research by Deloitte, across the top 100 in the UK was an increase in turnover of 6.1 per cent.

Jeremy Black, a Deloitte partner who advises law firms on strategy, said: ‘Part of it is to do with the exchange rate, and part of it is to do with generally doing business in London, which has performed strongly both in comparison with the rest of the country and globally. While the top ten firms have large overseas networks, the 11-25 firms tend to be based in London, and do much of their business in London.’ Source: Financial Times
